 Government ITI, Coimbatore has very active placement Cell. It provides 100% placement to the students  before completing their respective training .

The role of  Placemnt cell

1.      100% PLACEMENT
 
      Organising campus interviews and providing 100% placement to the students

2.       ORIENTATION PROGRAMME

                    Organising one day ORIENTATION PROGRAMME to make the students understand the value of “VOCATIONAL TRAINING” for freshers.

3.       INPLANT TRAINING

          Organising one month In-plant training programme  with respective  industries for our trainees ,to enrich the practical knowledge of the students

4.       INDUSTRIAL VISIT 
          Organising industrial visit for students  to  get insight  on the internal working environment of the company.

5.       SEMINARS
          Organising seminars for various trades in different topics with experts  to understand the recent developments in their field.

6.       LIFE  SKILL TRAINING

                   Organising life skill training programme like self motivation, Leadership,        Goal Setting, Time Management, Decision Making and  Communication skill to the students.

7.       Maintaining students address data base


8.       Conducting councelling and career guidance 
 
( All the trainees who appeared for All India Trade Test Examination conducted in July – 2012 (316 trainees) and CoE students of Feb-2013( 80 trainees)  have got the placement offers.  )

·        ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
            As you aware that most of the ITI students  hail from weaker economic section of the society. Even though they are ambitious they lack opportunities to prove themselves in this competitive world.
On one hand, our country is in huge demand for skilled labour force and on the other hand, we are facing high drop out rate of students (about 30%) during their academic course.
To make the students understand the value of “VOCATIONAL TRAINING”, it is proposed to convene one day “ORIENTATION PROGRAMME “  immediate after admission of freshers.
     ONE DAY ORIENTATION PROGRAMME
    1. company  Visit.
    2. Lunch at company .
    3. LCD presentation about  company profile, company scenario, career  prospective, salary  package etc..,
    Merits  of  the  “ORIENTATION PROGRAMME “ includes
  •    Students on exposure to such programme will feel pride and ultimately become committed to ITI as well as companies.
  •    Students will be motivated when they are exposed to ultra modern industrial ambience related  to their trade.
  •    Emotional bond is established between the students and companies.
·     Orientation provides a dynamic engaging experience designed to foster an overall understanding of Company and ITI and resulting in a connection with the trade in ITI.
·     Orientation will provide a chance to get familiar with the ITI before classes are commenced.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT
  • The industrial visit also provides an insight on how companies work and also useful information related to the practical aspects of the course which cannot be visualized in lectures.
  • Industrial visit is a part of the engineering course, during which students visit companies and get insight of on the internal working environment of the company.
  • Industrial visit is considered as one of the most tactical methods of teaching. The main reason behind this – it lets students to know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices. Moreover, it gives exposure from academic point of view.
